Cookie Policy
We use a small number of cookies: enough to keep you signed in, remember your theme, and understand which features work. No advertising networks, no cross-site tracking pixels.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. They let us recognise your browser between visits so you do not have to sign in on every page, and they tell us whether a feature is being used. Similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage and software development kits inside our mobile apps, do comparable jobs, and this policy covers them too.
2. What we use and why
| Category | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Signs you in and keeps you signed in, remembers your session, protects against cross-site request forgery, applies rate limits, and balances load between servers. | No. SimplyMe cannot work without these. |
| Preferences | Remembers your light or dark theme, language and region, feed ordering, autoplay and caption settings. | Yes. Clearing them resets your choices. |
| Analytics | Counts page and screen views, measures load times, and shows us where people abandon a flow. Aggregated and de-identified wherever possible. | Yes, from the cookie banner or your settings. |
| Performance & error reporting | Captures crashes and slow requests so we can fix them. | Yes. |
| Advertising | We do not use advertising or cross-context behavioural tracking cookies. | Nothing to turn off. |
Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last from 30 days up to 13 months depending on their job, and we never set one for longer than we can justify.
3. Third parties that may set cookies
- Our hosting and CDN provider: security and routing cookies on page requests.
- Our analytics and error-reporting tools: only after you accept the analytics category.
- Payment providers: fraud-prevention cookies during checkout.
- Embedded media: if a member embeds a video from another platform, that platform may set its own cookies when the embed loads. We load embeds in a privacy-preserving mode where the provider supports one.
4. How to control cookies
- On SimplyMe: use the cookie banner on your first visit, or change your mind any time under Settings → Privacy → Cookies.
- In your browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in.
- On mobile: your device settings control the advertising identifier and app tracking permissions.
- Global signals: we honour Global Privacy Control and “Do Not Track” where your browser sends them.
5. Other technologies we use
- Local storage: caches your drafts and Studio work-in-progress so you do not lose it on a refresh.
- Service workers: make the web app work offline and load faster.
- Mobile SDKs: push notifications and crash reporting inside the apps.
- Email pixels: a single-pixel image in product emails tells us whether an email was opened. Turn off image loading in your mail client to prevent it.
