Accessibility at SimplyMe
A creative platform that only some people can use is not doing its job. We build to WCAG 2.2 level AA, we test with real assistive technology, and we would rather hear about a gap than have you work around it.

Our commitment
Accessibility is part of the definition of done for a feature here, not a later pass. That means keyboard paths and screen-reader labels get designed at the same time as the visuals, and a feature that fails an audit does not ship as “fix it next sprint”.
The standard we build to
- WCAG 2.2 level AA as the baseline for the web app and marketing site.
- Native platform accessibility APIs on iOS and Android: VoiceOver and TalkBack.
- Automated checks in continuous integration, plus manual audits before major releases.
- Testing with real screen readers: NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.
What we have built
- AI alt text: suggested descriptions for every image, editable before you post. The easiest accessibility win on a visual platform, so we made it the default.
- Captions on video: automatic captions you can correct, and support for uploading your own caption file.
- Full keyboard navigation: every action reachable without a mouse, with visible focus rings and skip links.
- Light and dark themes that both meet contrast requirements, plus respect for your system preference.
- Reduced-motion support: animations honour
prefers-reduced-motion. - Scalable text: layouts hold together at 200% zoom and with large system font sizes.
- Screen-reader semantics: real landmarks, headings and labels rather than decorative divs.
- Autoplay off by default, with per-post controls.
Known gaps
Being honest about where we are not there yet:
- The Creative Studio canvas is a hard problem for screen readers. A structured, non-visual editing mode is in progress.
- Some third-party embedded media does not meet our standard, and we cannot fix it ourselves.
- Automatic captions are less accurate for strong accents and code-switching.
- Not every part of the app is fully audited yet; we publish updates as areas are cleared.
Tell us where we fall short
Email support@simplyme.app with “Accessibility” in the subject line. Tell us the page or feature, the assistive technology you use, and what blocked you. We aim to reply within two business days and we will tell you honestly whether it is a quick fix or a longer piece of work.
If you need something in an alternative format, such as a policy as plain text or large print, just ask and we will send it.
